The Short Answer
Both sell data by the gigabyte at close to the same price, so this one usually comes down to two smaller things: whether you want a free international phone number bundled in (AloSIM, via its Hushed partnership), and whether you're a first-time buyer or a repeat one. Airalo's best public code is a one-time 15% off for new customers only; AloSIM's 15% code applies to every purchase.
The Core Similarity: Both Are Pay-Per-GB
Neither AloSIM nor Airalo sells unlimited-only like Holafly. Both are built around fixed-GB data buckets priced per country or region, and both also offer an unlimited option alongside their fixed plans rather than forcing a choice between providers to get one. Coverage is essentially the same claim on both sides: 200+ destinations.
Where they actually diverge is the extras. AloSIM includes a free number through Hushed, set up inside its app after you buy a plan; useful if you want somewhere to receive a verification text or give out to a hotel without handing over your real number. Airalo has no equivalent built in, but it has a much larger public affiliate/referral ecosystem: the "Airmoney" program is why so many different Airalo codes circulate online, each one an individual user's $3-off referral link rather than an official storewide promo.

Country and Europe pricing is close enough between the two that the discount code you can actually apply matters more than the base price. Airalo sells a dedicated Global region plan; AloSIM's regional lineup doesn't currently include one.

Two Things Worth Knowing Before You Decide
AloSIM's refund guarantee has a timing catch. It covers eSIMs that fail to connect or turn out incompatible with your device, not ones you activated and simply didn't use much. Buy ahead if you like (an unused AloSIM eSIM doesn't expire), just don't activate until you're ready to actually use it.
Airalo's many discount codes aren't one official program with different tiers. They're mostly individual users' Airmoney referral codes, each worth a flat $3 off a first purchase, plus the two official codes (15% new customer, 10% existing customer with a $10 minimum). AloSIM keeps it to one storewide code instead.
